8mm & Super 8 Film to Digital Transfer
Boxes of home movies on 8mm and Super 8 film are some of the most precious recordings a family owns, and some of the hardest to watch once the projector is gone. BrodyWorks, run by Mike Brody in Roslyn, Long Island, transfers that film so you can watch it again on a TV or computer.
Film Mike transfers
- 8mm film (often called regular 8 or standard 8)
- Super 8 film
- 16mm film: Mike handles all film sizes up to 16mm
How the transfer works
Mike runs your film through a standalone film scanner that records it to DVD. If you would like the movies on a USB drive as well, just ask and Mike will copy them onto one.
Before you call
- Count your reels, and note whether the boxes say 8mm, Super 8 or 16mm.
- Keep reels in their original cans or boxes, with any labels.
- Do not try to project or repair fragile film yourself. Mention anything that looks damaged when you call.
Long Island or anywhere else
Mike is based in Roslyn, in Nassau County, and works with customers across Long Island. He also helps customers outside New York, so call to talk about the best way to get your film to him.
